POW-MIA Recognition Day

Presidential Proclamation

NONE! We are being punished in much the same manner as one would punish an uncooperative child.
The Clinton Administration is miffed with POW-MIA Family members, Veterans, Activists and everyone else. There has been substantial action with respect to normalization/embargo concerns, the inability or unwillingness of DoD to repsond to the requests of Congress (as required by law) and the ongoing LIPPO - Clinton - Riady scandal brewing in the wings. Those in the POW-MIA community will not "shut up and sit down" as Mr. Clinton's predecessor told the Families to do during his POW-MIA Recognition Day 1992 address. The following news item says it all:

18 JAN 95: POW-MIA Recognition Day has been removed from the list of official observances for 1995. The date was lumped into a group such as Miss Piggy Day, deemed to be frivolous, non-essential observances. A commission set up to determine what requests for what observances are legitimate, will look at various dates and either approve or remove a day from observation.
