Cronauer to give lecture at Virginia War Memorial
Adrian Cronauer, special assistant to the
director of the POW/MIA Office at the Department of Defense, will give a lecture at the Virginia War Memorial, 621 S. Belvidere St., Richmond, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31.
Cronauer's name is commonly linked to the well-known movie, "Good Morning, Vietnam," where Robin Williams used his witty and manic comic style to portray the Air Force radio announcer's tour of duty in Vietnam.
Cronauer has been quoted saying, "If I were half as funny as Robin Williams, I'd be out in Hollywood going na-noo, na-noo and making a million dollars."
Working to find service personnel missing for decades remains a focus for Cronauer in his current position which he feels makes a difference for the families. Cronauer will describe his efforts at the Department of Defense.
This event is free and open to the public. The auditorium has a seating capacity of 200. For more information, call 804-786-2060.
