Exploiting the POW-MIA Logo

20 June, 2007

Over the years we have seen many tasteless, tacky and downright disgraceful things. This one ranks right up there.

Zazzle, is an "on-demand manufacturer of apparel, posters, cards, stamps and more." Which means they are in the personalized tchotchkes business. Additionally, one can use their massive database of graphics, use of which will allow contributors to earn royalties everytime their creations are purchased by others.

We have no idea who TEINKA is... we do not care. However, we DO care that the national emblem that recongnizes the suffering of American POWs and MIAs, that represents the unimaginable suffering of these men and women - Death Camps, Torture, Starvings & Beatings, Death Marches, Terminal Medical Experimentation, Hell Ships, and countless other privations, is used to promote a ridiculous cartoon character.

88,000 POWs and MIAs should Never Be Forgotten, not some inane cartoon character promoted for economic gain by a multi-million dollar company.
