Air Force ROTC Members to Hold 24-Hour POW/MIA Vigil
Nov. 6, 2007 -- Members of the University of Wyoming Air Force ROTC will hold a 24-hour POW/MIA vigil to honor United States servicemen and women.
The vigil will be from 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, near the PrexyÕs Pasture flagpole. Arnold Air Society, an organization within the Air Force ROTC, will host the vigil. Two cadets will guard the flag in honor of soldiers who are prisoners of war or missing in action.
ÒThis is done so we never forget those who have made ultimate sacrifice for our freedom,Ó says Brittany Heins, Arnold Air Society public affairs officer.
The entire 53-member detachment unit will participate in some way, such as in planning the vigil or in supportive roles, she says.
