5 remains identified from Vietnam War

WASHINGTON, D.C. The remains of five Navy servicemen missing in action from the Vietnam War have been accounted for and were being returned to families for burial, the military said Friday.

Their airplane disappeared Oct. 8, 1967, while en route from Chu Lai Air Base in South Vietnam to the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. The E-1B Tracer vanished from radar about 10 miles northwest of Da Nang. Bad weather and hostile forces hampered recovery efforts.

The crew was identified as Norman Roggow of Aurelia, Iowa; Donald Wolfe of Hardin, Mont.; Andrew Zissu of New York; Roland Pineau of Berkley, Mich.; and Raul Guerra of Los Angeles.
