HICKAM AFB, Hawaii -ÊFive Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command recovery teams and one investigation team returned to Hawaii last week after conducting missions in Laos and Cambodia.

Three recovery teams excavated sites in Savannakhet Province, Lao Peoples' Democratic Republic, connected to three cases involving missing Americans from the Vietnam War. The teams obtained material evidence and possible human remains.

In the same province, an investigation team followed leads, interviewed witnesses and surveyed suspected loss locations relating to dozens of other cases.

This was the 96th Joint Field Recovery conducted in Laos.

Two separate JPAC recovery teams excavated sites in the Kingdom of Cambodia linked to two cases involving missing Americans from the Vietnam War. The teams recovered material evidence during their missions.

This was the 36th Joint Field Recovery in Cambodia.

JPAC Central Identification Laboratory scientists will now analyze all newly acquired material evidence and possible human remains in an effort to account for the missing Americans associated with the Laotian sites.

Additionally, JPAC intelligence analysts will scrutinize the information obtained by the investigation team to schedule future recoveries and identifications.

Both JFAs were 33 days in duration.
