"Dear League Members & Friends:
This letter is to cordially invite you to attend a regional meeting of the National League of Families on Saturday, October 1, 2005. The venue is American Legion Chapter 351, 1400 Bay Boulevard, Seaside Heights, New Jersey, 08751, and the meeting will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The registration fee is only $5.00 per person, since The American Legion, Department of New Jersey is hosting a continental breakfast (beginning at 8:00 a.m.) and American Legion Post 351 is hosting lunch. Invitations are being sent to all League members - family and associate - who reside in DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA and WVA, plus veterans' group officials in these states. If you know of others who wish to attend or would benefit from obtaining firsthand, factual information, please let us know.
There will be presentations by League Executive Director Ann Mills Griffiths and officials from Department of Defense (DoD) organizations who work full time to account for our POWs and MIAs. Family members, veterans and concerned citizens will have the opportunity to raise questions to League and DoD representatives. As is the custom, family members will be given the first opportunity to raise questions, followed by others as time allows. This meeting will give all of us a chance to meet, get updates on the issue, network and share ideas. These meetings have always been very educational, inspirational and motivating.
Enclosed is a registration form. Please note the deadline of September 18th to register for the Region II Meeting, and please make checks payable to the National League of POW/MIA Families. September 18th is also the deadline at the Hershey Motel (732-793-5000), 1415 Boulevard, Seaside Heights, NJ 08751, where a block of rooms has been reserved for September 30th and October 1st at a special rate of $55 per night. Please respond as soon as possible to secure your place.
We really look forward to seeing you on October 1st.
Sincerely,
Tom & Nancy Engkilterra
