Woman Makes Gift For Maupin's Parents
The candles have a special image of Maupin on the front
A Tri-state woman is making a special gift to warm the hearts of the parents of captured soldier Matt Maupin.
Tammi Karn Morris of Sayler Park is imprinting candles with Matt Maupin's picture on the front.
Wednesday marked eleven months since insurgents captured the Union Township soldier.
Matt's parents have taken on the theme "lighting the way home" for their son, which Morris didn't find out about until after speaking with the Maupins.
"I just want to do something nice and show people I do care, even though I personally don't know her. I just want to show her that people care and that we care that Matt comes home soon and safe," says Morris.
Organizers are planning a benefit for Matt Maupin and the troops next month on April 9th.
It will take place at the American Legion Post in Mt. Carmel.
