Search for missing soldiers to resume
By JPOST.COM STAFF

Egyptian authorities will enable Israel to search for the bodies of soldiers missing in action on the Egyptian front, according to Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz speaking at a memorial service for soldiers whose place of burial is unknown, Sunday.

Mofaz told an audience attending the annual memorial at the Mt. Herzl military cemetery that Israel would not cease in its search for missing soldiers until they were all returned for proper burial.

Seventeen Israeli soldiers are still missing from the Egyptian front, and searches conducted during the 1990's were halted following a cooling in Israeli – Egyptian relations with the beginning of the October 2000 Intifada."
