"Further co-operation with the US on MIA issue urged

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the United States to strengthen co-operation with Vietnam in resolving the consequences of war, including landmine and Agent Orange issues.

Dung received a member of the US House of Representatives, Mac Collins, in Hanoi on Friday. He hoped that Mr. Collins would help improve the relations between the two countries.

The Deputy PM affirmed that Vietnam always considers the MIA issue as a humanitarian issue. He said the country would continue co-operating with the US in providing information and searching for those American servicemen who were reported to have gone missing during the war.

Mac Collins expressed his wish that Vietnam would continue co-operating and assisting the US in the search for missing servicemen.
