Re: POW-MIA Radio Broadcast Schedule
Date: January 25, 2004
"All,
Our scheduled guests on POW/MIA Radio for Sunday, January 25, 2004 are:
3:00pm Mtn - News and Views. An hour of the latest POW/MIA and veterans issues.
4:00pm Mtn - Mr. Steve Kiba. Steve is a former POW and Airman in the US Air
Force during the Korean War. He was a radio operator on an unarmed B-29 that
was shot down over North Korea on January 12, 1953. Steve bailed out, was captured
and traveled to various camps before ending up in the Chinese Gulags. He was
finally released and deported from Red China on August 4, 1955, well after the
armistice with North Korea was signed ending the Korean War. Since then, Steve
has been telling his story and of other American POWs seen in China. His recent
book, "Red Flag", tells of his experience and torture while POW. A
more compelling story is his experiences after he was released. Steve will discuss
these and his thoughts on current political events.
5:00pm Mtn - Ms. Carol Hrdlicka. Carol's husband, Col. David L. Hrdlicka, USAF
was shot down May 18, 1965 and since that time she has fought to seek the truth
about his whereabouts. Col. Hrdlicka was seen alive in the cave complex near
Sam Neua, Laos and appeared in several Communist newspapers. In 1966, Pravda,
the Russian News service ran a photo of him showing that he was very much alive.
Carol has been a frequent visitor to the offices of congressmen and many government
officials. She has testified before congressional committees and works closely
with her state's Senators to enlist their help for all POW/MIA Issues. Carol
will give us an update on what is being done about David's case and her views
on the current political scene.
