Subject: Re: PRAYERS NEEDED FOR BEVERLY HAIRE

Sometimes being a friend, a true friend can be the hardest thing in the world. It means supporting one another even when we may not agree eye-to-eye, being there to lean on in times of both joys and sorrows, and sometimes, being tasked with the hardest thing of all, final good-byes.

This is what Jennifer and I have been asked to do. Beverly Haire has been a true friend, a big sister and a confidant for several years. She has always accepted persons for better or worse and always managed to see the good inside people.

When Kimmie spoke to Bev on Friday, she sounded tired but in good spirit. She told her she had an appointment with her cancer doctors that afternoon and had to get ready. Being in true “Bev” form, not once did Kimmie think this visit was anything but ordinary even though she did casually mention the visit was for more tumors; but there was no alarm or worry in her voice.

Today (Saturday), Kimmie called Bev just to check in on a few things. Jennifer also received a call from Bev. It is with sadness and tears as we write this letter to all of you on her behalf. The doctor says the tumors have metastasized into her body and her brain. Bev’s daughter is coming down this weekend to help her start getting her papers and everything else in order then she will be going to a Hospice House here in Florida.

She asked us to write this as right now she is not well enough to be able to do so herself and to quote her “I’m not good at saying good-bye, please do it for me”.

She wanted each of you to know that she loves each and every one of you who has touched her life, and she hopes that she has affected such love in your hearts and lives. We know she has affected love in our hearts, and several others that are too numerous to list. Those of you with OJC, Empty Coffins and the TLC Brotherhood are especially close to her heart, and she wanted each of you all to know how grateful and happy she is that she was able to make such wonderful connections and friendships. That out of the pain of a loved one, special bonds were formed, and those bonds were wonderful!

We are not sure if she will be online much from here on out as from our conversation today, she is going into Hospice relatively quickly as soon as her daughter and her can get all in order.

If you wish to send cards, letters, or anything else, feel free to email Kimmie at (Pararescuebrat@aol.com) and she will give you her address and hold the mail for Bev. Kimmie will forward them to her once we have more details on where she will be.

Please keep Bev in your prayers and thoughts!!!
