TOKYO &Mac247; The Japanese government will submit bills to the upcoming session of parliament that will rule out internment of ordinary foreign citizens in time of war, even with their home countries, government sources said Wednesday.

The government has worked out the bills to protect civilians and deal with prisoners of war in accordance with the 1949 Geneva Conventions that Japan signed in 1953. The government is concerned that bills for wartime internment of foreigners could affect sensitive relations with North Korea and anger foreigners living in Japan, the sources said. (Kyodo News)"
