Date: April 17, 2004

"All,

Our scheduled guests on POW/MIA Radio for Sunday, April 18, 2004 are:

3:00pm Mtn - News and Views:  An hour of the latest POW/MIA and veterans news.  Our special guest for this hour will be Mr. Hal Fritz, Lt. Col. USA (ret), recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor.  Hal was recently fired by the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs from his job where he was Deputy Director.  The repercussions of his exposing abuses and political treachery there in the VA was felt all the way up to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.  His firing was reportedly for "budgetary constraints". Hal will provide an update of the continued decay in the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs.

4:00pm Mtn - Mr. Garnett "Bill" Bell and Mr George J. Veith:  Mr. Bell's military career goes back to 1960 with the US Army.  He served two tours in Vietnam in the infantry and returned in 1973 as translator during Operation Homecoming.  In 1975 Bill helped evacuate American and Vietnamese from Saigon as the city was being overrun by the Communists. He served as Senior Field Investigator for search and rescue operations of POW/MIAs and in 1991as Chief of the US Office for POW/MIA Affairs.  Bill has testified before the Senate Select Committee for POW/MIA Affairs and remains active in the issue today.  Mr. Veith is an accomplished writer and historian.  He has written numerous articles about the Vietnam War and his book, "Code Name Bright Light: The Untold Story of POW/MIA Rescue Effort During the Vietnam War" won the Military Book Club, Book of the Month award in 1988.  Jay has testified before the House of Representatives and is a frequent speaker on TV, radio as well as before veteran groups and families of POW/MIAs.  We will be discussing their recently released book, "Leave No Man Behind".

5:00pm Mtn - Mr. Jerry Mooney:  Mr. Mooney is a former Master Sergeant in the US Air Force and analyst for the National Security Agency (NSA).  Among his duties, he tracked many of our MIAs after they were lost and into their capture.  He also compiled and maintained the Order of Battle for many North Vietnamese military units and their operational records.  Jerry has testified before several government committees on behalf of our POW/MIAs and has been an outspoken advocate on issues relating to national security.  We will discuss the 9-11 attack and the intelligence failures leading up to it.  The recent 9-11 testimonies and a few surprise topics are also planned.
