"Roberts, other Senators to visit Iraq next week
WASHINGTON - Sen. Pat Roberts is going to Iraq early next week.
The chairman of the Select Senate Committee on Intelligence will accompany members of the Senate Armed Services Committee on a trip to Baghdad, Basra and southern Iraq, according to Armed Services member Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn.
The delegation will stay in Kuwait each night, and will be back in the United States by July 4, according to Dayton.
Roberts will be examining the U.S. hunt for weapons of mass destruction and the search for missing Gulf War airman Scott Speicher, according to Armed Services chairman John Warner, R-Va.
Ranking Intelligence Committee Democrat Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia will accompany Roberts and the Armed Services members on the trip.
