Tehran, May 17 - The Iranian committee in charge of locating soldiers listed as missing in action called here Saturday for the establishment of a tripartite committee to locate and bring home the remains of victims left behind in the war in Iraq, IRNA reported.
"Iran called for the establishment of a search committee in collaboration with Iran, Kuwait and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to reduce the psychological and social impact of thousands of Iranian, Iraqi and Kuwaiti remaining unaccounted for," the head of the search committee for MIAs, Brigadier Mirfeysal Baqerzadeh, said.
He lashed out at the occupying forces' inability to prevent cemeteries from being vandalized and documents detailing Saddam Hussein's crimes from being destroyed.
Baqerzadeh offered the services of Iran's search committee for MIAs, banking on its experiences and achievement, to help in this humanitarian aspect of the war.
