"Group Asking for Prayers for Speicher
There's a flurry of activity surrounding Captain Scott Speicher on the eve of his 46th birthday.
Speicher is the Jacksonville Navy pilot shot down on the first night of the Gulf War in 1991 and now listed as a POW in Iraq.
Speicher's friends want to honor him Saturday on his birthday. The group is called, "Friends Working to Free Scott Speicher" wants your help. Members are asking everyone in Jacksonville to pray for Captain Speicher.
Jim Stafford of the group says, "We're asking everyone in town, every church in town to place Scott on their prayer list."
The group is putting the message on half dozen billboards in Jacksonville Saturday only. They want to remember his birthday with the power of prayer. "We're still very hopeful and its very important Scott gets our prayers at this time.", says Stafford.
Speicher's birthday comes as supporters say there's growing evidence the Navy pilot is still alive.
"There is significant evidence out there that Scott is alive and in horrific condition. They've kept him in deplorable prison situations.", says Cindy LaQuidera the attorney for the Speicher family.
Speicher has been missing 12 years and his advocates say over the years he's been held at the highest possible level, possibly even with Saddam Hussein himself.
LaQuidera adds, "Only a handful of people have day to day knowledge of him, an occasional guard who sees him or deals with him, but it would certainly be consistent that he is with Saddam. You don't want to kill Saddam and kill Scott in the process."
Meanwhile, a team of 40 intelligence officers, government officials and Special Ops soldiers are reportedly searching for Speicher in Iraq.
A $1 million reward is also being offered to help speed up the search.

But until it is known where he is the "Friends Working to Free Scott Speicher" is fighting to let Jacksonville and the world know they're keeping faith.
Scott's 46th birthday is Saturday, July 12th.
The group will display billboards around Jacksonville in his honor. They are asking you for your thoughts and prayer
