""2003...Let's set them free"!

Our scheduled guests on POW/MIA Radio for Sunday, February 23, 2003 are:

3:00pm Mtn - News and Views. An hour of the latest POW/MIA and veterans issues.

4:00pm Mtn - Bob Ball, former POW and 1st Lt., USAAF, World War II. Bob was a bombardier on a B-24 that was shot down near Cologne, Germany in 1943. He was captured and spent the next 22 months as POW, much of it in the infamous prison camp, Stalag Luft 3, about 100 miles from Berlin. Bob tells a different story than the movie Stalag 13 or Hogan's Heroes including a tragic ending of an escape that was compromised and hundreds of prisoners executed as they tried to escape. The camp was the the background for the movie "The Great Escape". His liberation is a story in itself.

5:00pm Mtn - Mike Benge, former POW and now activist in the issue and for human rights in Viet Nam. Mike was working as an agricultural advisor for AID when captured on January 31, 1968 near Ban Me Thuot. He and other prisoners were moved from camp to camp in the south, Cambodia and Laos before he finally was marched to Hanoi in North Vietnam. He was finally released March 5, 1973 during Operation Homecoming. Since that time, Mike has made numerous trips back to Southeast Asia working for ethnic minorities, especially the Montagnard people of Vietnam. He continues to work as an activist for human rights issues and our POW/MIAs.

Please listen to POW/MIA Radio every Sunday on the American Freedom Network, http://www.americanewsnet.com . We also broadcast on staellite and locally on KHNC-AM, 1360khz, Johnstown, Colorado.

Thanks,

Rod Utech, Producer
