"2003...Let's set them free".
Our scheduled guests on POW/MIA Radio for Sunday, January 26, 2003 are:
3:00pm Mtn - News and Views. An hour of the latest POW/MIA and veterans issues.
4:00pm Mtn - Jen Lavery. Jen is the sister of Maj. Paul Weaver, USAF who went missing on January 31, 1991, during the Gulf War. Paul was the pilot of SPIRIT 03, an AC-130H Spectre Gunship, tasked with destroying a FROG missile site in support of US Marines. The plane was downed under questionable circumstances with no survivors officially reported at that time. His remains have never been recovered and identified. Only the remains of 5 or 6 men were identified out of a crew of 14. The families of the crew were told they must accept the apportioned remains as recovered or they would never have another funeral for their loved one. Jen's story is heartbreaking and replete with all the tricks and obfuscation also evident in so many POW/MIA cases. Remember, our President announced in his POW/MIA Recognition Day speech last September, that there are THREE missing from the Gulf War. Could one of those be Paul Weaver?
5:00pm Mtn - USS Pueblo. A special commemoration of the attack on our intelligence gathering ship, 35 years ago, this week. We have scheduled crewmembers Alvin Plucker, Don McClarren and Stu Russell to join us to discuss the incident from the view point of the crew. Involved with Pueblo from her outfitting, hear how they also endured the deadly attack and their subsequent 11 month torturous incarceration in North Korea. These men are also members of the USS Pueblo Veterans Association and keep the memory of that event alive so we will never forget. "Remember the Pueblo", should be on all of our minds given the current political situation with North Korea. Please visit http://www.usspueblo.org for more information.
Please listen to POW/MIA Radio every Sunday on The American Freedom Network, http://www.americanewsnet.com . We also broadcast on satellite and locally at KHNC-AM, 1360KHZ, Johnstown, Colorado.
Thanks,
Rod Utech, Producer
