Re: Woman on Mission to Fly POW-MIA Flag
From: POW-MIA InterNetwork
Date: January 10, 2003
"Carson Clark Reports
A DeKalb County woman has set out on a personal mission to see that the POW-MIA flag is at every public building in the county. Rachel Plunkett of Rainsville wants the flag to join the American and Alabama state flags at city halls and post offices.
The idea came from a trip Plunkett took to Indiana over the Christmas holidays. She says she saw the flag everywhere. With a possible war with Iraq on the horizon, Plunkett says now is the time to remember those who went off to past wars and never returned.
Plunkett is asking all the city councils in DeKalb County to consider flying the POW-MIA flag. She also wants other counties and cities in Alabama to do the same.
