From American Ex-POWs "Albuquerque, NM—FEB. 27, 2002—On Sunday, 7 April 2002, the Bataan-Corregidor Memorial Foundation of New Mexico, Inc. and the City of Albuquerque will be dedicating a new memorial at Bataan Memorial Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The memorial commemorates the men who valiantly served in the 200th and 515th Coast Artillery during WWII. The commemoration falls on the 60th Anniversary of the Bataan Death March and fulfills a promise by the City of Albuquerque to build a memorial in their honor.

Approximately 1,800 men from New Mexico were sent to the Philippines to fight for the freedom that we now enjoy.  Less than 200 are alive today.

The dedication will be from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, Sunday, 7 April 2002.  Bataan Memorial Park is located between Amherst Drive and Tulane Drive, next to the Walgreens Pharmacy located at the corner of Carlisle and Lomas Boulevards.
