Thought For the Day: On the Human Rights organizations that are screaming about US abuses of Camp X-Ray detainees -
The Human Rights organizations are in the business of defending rights. The world needs them to show a spotlight on the dark areas of brutality that exist throughout the world. It is imperitive that they be the voice for those who cannot be heard. However, their history betrays their actions and words. At the present they are screaming about human rights and humane treatment of Camp X-Ray detainees... combatants captured in a war on terrosism. However, during Vietnam, the human rights organizations, refused to discuss or consider the plight of American POWs.
Why?
Because they, the US POWs, were combatants who were captured during hostile engagements and therefore outside the interests of the organizations. How ironic.
