Re: Message for Passover and Easter
Date: April 13, 2001
The events of the past two weeks have reinforced America's awareness of the courage and commitment that has been the cornerstone of US military personnel in service to the United States of America.
Once again, thousands of miles away, news of captives and losses disturbs the relative peace and prosperity we here in the US enjoy each and every day. While we go about our lives someone, somewhere, is faced with the knock on the door, the telegram, the telephone call that will unalterably change their lives forever.
While volunteer personnel make the ultimate sacrifice while searching for American POWs and MIAs, a new generation of uniformed men and women are taken captive and held against their will during a war of words between historic adversaries.
And on this day, two airplanes will land... One with the jubiliant crew of a crippled craft that managed to 'make it' the other with seven flag-draped caskets of a crew that didn't. To the 24 Naval crewmembers we say Welcome Home and Thank You. To the 7 JTF-FA and CILHI members, their families, friends and colleagues there are no words, only prayers.
May God Bless our Prisoners of War and Missing In Action...
May God Look Over Those Who Search For Answers...
May God Grant Peace, Strength and Comfort to the Families...
May God Grant Perseverance to Those Who Wait.
We here at AII POW-MIA wish you all a Blessed Passover and a most Joyous Pascha and Easter.
Andi and Bob
