Rising Like A Phoenix From the Ashes... Old Glory

Amidst the unimaginable carnage and rubble, Old Glory flies as a bright and shining reminder
of everything we embrace and hold dear.
At Ground Zero in both Washington and New York, rescue workers and citizens have
taped, tied, draped, planted and worn the Stars and Stripes in every conceivable way.
Across the Nation our National Standard flies at half mast, hangs in windows, from bridges and
overpasses, flaps on car antennas, and is wrapped around trees and posts.

It is truly a wonderous thing to see... in the wake of unspeakable destruction,
that something so simple and yet so beautiful can rise so magnificently above the devastation
and debris and stir everyone who passes by.
It is also a tragic thing that so many ignored the flag all these years and only an unprecedented attack against
America herself would trigger a deep-sleeping patriotism in so many to seek out and fly their flag.
But it is never too late... her soaring presence against a backdrop of shattered, grey desolation reminds us of the
good in Americans, of the sacrifices of our Nation's sons and daughters and their families and of the
innate spirit of America and Americans that freedom, liberty, honor and duty will forever rise above adversity.

May God Bless our Prisoners of War and Missing in Action, our Armed Forces and America.

May God Grant Peace, Comfort and Strength to All Families Touched By This Tragedy.

May God Grant Perserverance to All Those Who Wait For Answers.
