Re: Honor Guard Escorts Blassie Home

Date: July 10, 1998

Amidst crowds and somber music, the flag-draped casket of Michael Blassie was returned home today in preparation for burial in his home town.

Blassie is to be interred with full honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis and DEFSEC William Cohen will attend. The family was supported by hundreds of citizens who came to pay their respects to the 'Known Soldier'.

Afterwards, Blassie's sister, Pat, remarked, ""We're sharing this with the American public..." "We understand that it is much bigger than us."
