Re: US F-117 Stealth Down Over Yugoslavia

Breaking News is reporting a downed US F-117 Stealth fighter. Reports range on the survival and whereabouts of the pilot.

NBC has reported that the US military has confirmed the downing, which occured at 1415 hours EST.The craft was based at Holloman AFB in New Mexico. All F-117 Nighthawks are based at Holloman.The F-117 flew out of Aviano AFBPrevious reports were denied. The White House has not commented on the downing.Belgrade TV has broadcast images that are said to be the burning fuselage of the craft. The insignia star and bars and air wing shield of the USAF may be seen very clearly on the wreckage. Serb broadcasts claim the craft was out of the 8th US Fighter Squadron.Wreckage shows the ID number AF-806CNN reported the US pilot was 'at large.'Serb television states a manhunt is underwaySerb forces claim to have captured a German POW, but NATO spokesmen state German forces accounted for.
