Re:McCain Begins Presidential Process

Date: December 29, 1998

Former POW and Arizona Senator, John McCain, will begin the formal process to run for President.

Today McCain will file the necessary papers with the Federal Election Commission that will start the process with a Presidential exploratory committee. Former Senator Warren Rudman will chair the committee.

McCain was one of the Keating Five Scandal senators and was censured by the Senate Ethics Committee. He was also instrumental in attempts to defeat and destroy the Missing Service Personnel Act during the hard-fought years for families to insure that legislation existed that protected the rights of the Missing and Prisoners, among other things.
