Re: Military Chopper Down At Sea - 10 Still Unacccounted-For

A Marine chopper went down in the Pacific this afternoon with 18 people aboard. Of the 18, eight had been rescued and 10 were still 'in the water' according to the US Coast Guard.

The CH-46E had taken off from the USS Pecos and was reported missing overwater about 25 miles from San Diego, CA, at 1316 hours (PST). The personnel aboard are listed as the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Camp Pendleton.

According to the Pentagon, Search and Recovery operations are underway.
