Re: Archival Footage Available This Week
Date: April 09, 1999
As reported in our January InterNetwork notice - Vietnam Archival Footage Sold to Highest Bidder , the Vietnam archival footage will be 'commercially' available as of this week.
After reviewing only a small part of the archive (over 47 miles of footage thus far), which covers the two Indochia Wars that raged between 1945 through 1975, the footage is found to include US Prisoners of War.
"There is film of the arrest of one American pilot. It is the only shot we've seen anywhere of an American getting hit by some Vietnamese people," says the German film executive in describing the some of the images. As only a partial segment of the archives have been screened for review, we can only imagine what the majority of remaining footage may include.
Has DOD seen these films... or at the very least demanded to?
Or do they have to get on line and buy a ticket for the 'commercial' release?
