UAW Remembers POW-MIAs
November 04, 1997
In honor of Veteran's Day, UAW President Stephen P. Yokich and Secretary Treasurer Roy O. Wyse reminded union members of our veterans, POWs and MIAs.
"We call on UAW members and their families to take time on November 11 to honor our nation's armed forces veterans for their courage and dedication in the cause of peace and freedom," Yokich said.
"We should never take for granted the sacrifices of men and women in our armed forces, especially those who served during wartime or in dangerous situations," Wyse added.
"We take special note of those veterans who became prisoners of war or who remain unaccounted for," Wyse continued.
"Peace is a fragile thing in today's turbulent world", Yokich said, "and those who serve our nation, often in faraway places, deserve our support for their efforts to secure peace and justice."
