Re: USMC POW-MIA SGT Mandra's Mother Passes
Date: May 1, 1997
Forty five years ago, Sergeant Phillip Mandra disappeared in Korea. Several yars ago a former Soviet intelligence officer recalled seeing the missing Marine in a prison facility in Russia, in the Soviet oblast of Perm, many years after he was officially declared dead by the USG.
Yesterday, Millie Mandra, the mother of Sergeant Mandra passed from this life. Another mother going to her grave not knowing what happened to her child. Another mother who lived for years with unanswered questions.
Perhaps she may now find those answers.
Our prayers and condolences go out to the family, especially Irene, Philly's sister and a tireless advocate for his freedom and the truth.
May the love of friends bring them comfort, may the love of God bring them peace.
