Re: Ron Brown & Vietnam, Again
Date: June 19, 1997
Upon the death of former Commerce Secretary and DNC Chairman, Ron Brown, the Just-Us Department dropped its investigation into whether Brown accepted a pay-off in order to effect normalization with Vietnam, along with other questionable activities.
Countless researchers were able to follow a money-influence trail that the USG were either unable or unwilling to find. Brown, it must be noted, always denied any wrong doing.
Now, according to a former business associate, Nolanda Hill, Brown indeed curried favors.
Hill, appearing on ABC's Prime Time Live, stated that Brown...
Considered a proposal from Vietnam to have trade restrictions lifted.
Received money from Democratic donors and received employment for his son.
Told Hill that the White House ordered Commerce to hire one John Huang.
Was pushed by the White House to travel to China in 1994 to swing a billion dollar deal with China that involved the Lippo Group's Riady Family.
For the record, the Whitewash House denies all of the above.
