Re: John Huang Briefed 37 Times

Date: June 27, 1997

The testimony of a CIA officer, John Dickerson, stated that John Huang of DNC-Commerce-Lippo fame, was briefed 37 times on China and Taiwan.

The secret intelligence that Huang appears to have received is under investigation by the Just-Us Department and Congressional investigators. Allegations that Huang may have breached national security and passed along US intelligence have not been put to rest.

Dickerson testified that he briefed Huang with 'raw intelligence reports' at the behest of Huang's boss at Commerce.

"I asked him whether or not he would have an interest in a particular country and he said yes he would,'' said Dickerson.

"So the particular country was China?'' Dickerson was asked.

"Mm-humm,'' Dickerson replied.

It will be noted that Huang, while at Commerce, had a responsibility for Taiwan. Dickerson testified that John Huang, "probably had the most interest in Taiwan and China, together."

Was it simply passing interest given that John Huang was born in Communist China? What is amazing is that Huang was provided a security clearance WITHOUT the standard background check. It has also been reported that Huang telephoned his former employer, Lippo, a number of times around the periods when he received these classified briefings.
